Random Arenas leaver solution (gaile read please)
Can you please make it so the first person who leaves a team automatically can't join another ra for say 30 minutes. And if they do repeated offenses just keep them out of pvp entirely for like a day at a time.
about 70% of the games I join one side always has a leaver and I can see the same person each time doing it.
This way, people who leave after the leaver won't get punished and the person who is the true leaver will get their justice.

There are already anti-leaver mechanics planned in the near future. I don't know the specifics, but it should address the problem.

There have hundreds of suggestions concerning the leaving in RA, most of which are better than yours.
This thread fails, lock please.
Thank you.

Wow... and what about innocent people who have to go take care of their baby all of the sudden or something legit.... then they cant play for 30 mins? There are much better solutions then this.

Im really curious, as I am convinced most anti-leaver measurements concepts will contain holes that still allow leaving, punish people that have mediocre connections, or will result in Lerrooooy STONESKINS in RA, to finish of the fight fast and get into a new one. Honestly, bad players need to be improved, if they are never kiting while taking huge damage the screen must be filled with popups, saying he needs to kite. Well, of course this won't work, but you get the point. There are a few good alternatives to revitalize TA, and RA is nice as you can just jump in for a quick fight, but just remove glad points there or cap it.
You like to stay in a 3 minute fight that was lost after the first 30 seconds, because your team sucked? ANTI leaver measurements will not work, they just cause annoyance and need lots of tinkering, to make it less annoying

Durr, easy solution. Just leech if you have to go if, for some random reason, anet uses this.
Not like they would, because this stupid shit doesn't get rid of leavers, it just encourages them to leech with an autoadder instead.

if they need to leave for a real life emergency, chances are they won't be playing for a bit . .. shorten the time to 10 minutes or something and this would probably work fine if ever implemented.

The behavior will persist until it is more beneficial to stay and lose, than to quit.
Up the loser's benefit. That will bring in a different set of problems, but they will be different than the current one.
Thanks!

I'm quite excited about this. It really makes me angrier than it should when people quit. It's usually W/E or A/W that leave becuase they don't get a monk.
What I hope doesn't happen is for someone to be able to leave and leave my team as 3vs4. That way I'm at an instant disadvantage and I feel I have an entitlement to leave. I don't want to have to either get owned or worry about the repercussions of quitting to start afresh.

I agree with the incentive to stay and loose rather than quit to have better chance of winning
There are lots of ideas and they all have downsides
I feel sorry for Anet that when they implement a measure some people wont like it and they'll complain
Damned if you do damned if you don't huh?

Anti-leaver mechanic will open a whole new wave of griefers - runners.
Can't kill them, but they'll keep wasting your time until *you* decide/are forced to leave.
Few realize how extremely powerful this can become. It's like Spiteful Spirit that affects real players, by not hurting them directly, but making their own actions cause them harm.

You can penalize leaving, but can you penalize those who refuse to participate?
Because that's what's going to happen once the leavers are penalized.

I've heard many suggested solutions to the RA leaver "problem", and this is the worst one yet. Congrats.

Nice contribution, you must be so proud!
It is a problem and as Andrew stated there is a solution going to be implemented. We’ll just have to wait and see if it is effective.
